Will you be this year’s Canadian Media Champion Award recipient?

We are thrilled to launch the call for nominations for the Canadian Media Champion Award, a distinction celebrating an industry leader who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to supporting Canadian media. This award honors bold leadership that prioritizes local publishers, broadcasters, and platforms over global tech giants, driving tangible impact for brands while strengthening Canada’s media ecosystem. The winner will be announced on May 14, 2025, during AdClub Digital Day, as part of the Best of the Biz Award.
Award Description
The Canadian Media Champion Award, presented by Atelier La Presse, shines a spotlight on an individual who exemplifies excellence in actively supporting Canadian media. This award recognizes an innovative approach that champions local players and contributes to a thriving media future in Canada.
Selection Criteria
- Acknowledges the importance of Canadian media as a key component of the national media landscape.
- Demonstrates leadership and influence through concrete actions to support and promote local media whenever possible.

To nominate a candidate—or yourself—please fill out this form before the deadline:

Written Summary: A 200–500-word text outlining the candidate’s achievements:
Show us how you, or someone you know, made a difference through one or more of the following:
Recommending and/or supporting Canadian media (e.g., publishers, broadcasters, local digital platforms) over “The Big US Tech companies” by sharing specific stories, programs, initiatives that have put Canadian Media companies first! If possible, you can include metrics (e.g., percentage of budget allocated locally, ROI, reach) and/or any broader impact that made this program a success.
The nominee may also demonstrate leadership by influencing your agency and/or clients to adopt pro-Canadian media strategies (e.g., changes in internal policies, advocacy with clients, and/or active promotion within the agency).
Additionally, you may highlight the nominee’s commitment by facilitating access for Canadian partners within your organization and/or promoting Canadian media in the industry, whether through involvement in internal and/or external committees or working groups (e.g., IAB, CMDC) and/or other relevant initiatives.

Selection Process
An initial jury, composed of the Toronto-based La Presse team—Sam Bevecqua, Mona Kiriakopoulos, Michael Valentino, Madeline Della Mora, Brendan Murray, Fiona Stedman, and Will Gooch—will preselect the nominees. The final selection will be made by members of the Adclub team.
