Thank you to all of our subscribers who are taking the time to read the latest edition of AdClub Central.
This month, we have a great selection of articles from special guest contributors, including a piece I wrote myself. In my article, I offer advice to the next generation of students entering our industry. The article was inspired by the AdClub’s recent Student Day event, which drew students from all across Canada as well as many leaders from our marketing industry.
On the topic of Student Day, I would like to take a moment to congratulate the Student Day committee. It has been incredibly exciting to watch the growth of the event over the past three years and see the positive impact it has on the next generation of marketing students.
Similarly, I also want to take a moment to recognize all of the people across our industry who work with students, mentor students or offer students their first real opportunity. That includes all of the teachers who juggle full-time careers in addition to their teaching duties and helping their students find placements upon graduation; the HR teams who give opportunities to new students and provide a healthy environment for learning and growth; and to anyone who takes the time to mentor a young student or someone new to our industry.
As we might remember ourselves, it’s not easy making the transition from student to full-time career. I’m proud that AdClub events like Student Day are the first step for many new grads into our industry. A big thanks to everyone who help make their memories of this time a positive one.
